Macomb County is a county located in the United States of Michigan. The county has a population of 788149 as per the 2000 census data. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 830663, It is the third most populous county in the U.S. state of Michigan. It covers total area of 569.78 miē (1475.72 kmē), of which, 480.44 square miles (1244.33 kmē) of it is land and 89.34 square miles (231.39 kmē) of it is water, making it the 11th smallest by size in Michigan.

The population density was 1640.5 people per square mile (633.4/kmē), making its Michigan's second most densely populated county. There were 320276 housing units at an average density of 666.6 per square mile (257.38/kmē). The average household size was 2.52 and the average family size was 3.09. The population's age distribution was 24.1% under the age of 18, 8% from 18 to 24, 31.5% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.7% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.9 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 830663, The racial makeup of the county was 726769 White, 63231 Black or African American, 2910 American Indian, 25240 Asian, 222 Native Hawaiian, and 12291 from two or more races.
