The city encompasses an area of 13.49 square miles (34.94 sq km ), of which, 10.82 square miles (28.02 sq km) of it is land and 2.68 square miles (6.94 sq km) of it is water, it is the 43rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
