Lynch City, Kentucky


Lynch City is one of the city of Harlan County, Kentucky, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. It is home to over 900 people (2000 census). Its population was estimated at 820 in July 2008, It is the 254th largest by population in the U.S. state of Kentucky. Its area is just over 0.33 sq mi (0.85 square kilometre), makes it the 112th smallest by total area in Kentucky.

As of the census of 2000, there were 900 people in the city, organized into 408 households, and 251 families living in the city. The population density was 2753.1 people per square mile (1062.98/kmē), it is Kentucky's 94th most densely populated city. There were 514 housing units at an average density of 1557.6 per square mile (601.39/kmē). The average household size was 2.21 persons, and the average family size was 2.88 persons. In the city Age distribution was 22.6% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 20.4% from 25 to 44, 28.2% from 45 to 64, and 19.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 82.6 males.
