Its population was estimated at 8405 in July 2008, giving it the 85th largest population among Indiana. Its area is just over 4.16 sq mi (10.77 square kilometre), of which, 4.08 square miles (10.57 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.08 square miles (0.21 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 111th largest by size in Indiana.
