Lowell City is a United States city located in the Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. In 2000, city's population was 105167 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 103615, It is the fourth largest by population in the U.S. state of Massachusetts. The city has a total area of 14.54 square miles (37.66 sq km), of which, 13.77 square miles (35.66 sq km) of it is land and 0.76 square miles (1.97 sq km) of it is water, it is the 38th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 105167 people, 37887 households, and 23982 families residing in the city. The population density was 7635.6 people per square mile (2948.12/kmē), giving it the 14th most densely populated city among the Massachusetts.
