Loup County is a county in the United States of Nebraska. The population of county in 2000 stood at 712 as per the Census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 619, It is the sixth least populous county in the U.S. state of Nebraska. It is spread over 571.02 sq mi (1478.94 square kilometre), of which, 569.71 square miles (1475.54 square kilometre ) of it is land and 1.31 square miles (3.39 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 30th smallest by total area among Nebraska's county.
