Louisa Town is one of the town of Louisa County, Virginia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 1401. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 1564, giving it the 209th largest population among Virginia. The town comprises an area of 1.83 sq mi (4.74 square kilometre), of which, 1.83 square miles (4.74 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 242nd largest by total area in Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1401 people in the town, organized into 584 households, and 331 families living in the town. The population density was 766.8 people per square mile (296.06/kmē), it is the 224th most populated town in terms of population density. There were 620 housing units at an average density of 338.8 per square mile (130.81/kmē). The average household size was 2.25 persons, and the average family size was 2.93 persons. In the Louisa Town, 24.8% of the population was under the age of 18, 7.9% were 18 to 24, 28.5% were 25 to 44, 19.2% were 45 to 64, and 19.6% who were 65 or older.
