Loudon County, Tennessee is a county of the United States of Tennessee. Loudon County had an official population of 39086 in 2000. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 46445, It is the 32nd largest in terms of population. The county encompasses an area of 247.31 square miles (640.53 kmē ), of which, 228.88 square miles (592.8 kmē) of it is land and 18.43 square miles (47.73 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 11th smallest by total area in Tennessee.

The population density was 170.8 people per square mile (65.95/kmē), making its Tennessee's 15th most densely populated county. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 21.9% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 27.5% from 25 to 44, 27.7% from 45 to 64, and 16.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.1 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 46445, The racial makeup of the county was 96.79% White, 1.5% Black or African American, 0.31% American Indian, 0.42% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, and 0.97% from two or more races.
