Los Banos City is a city located in Merced County, California, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. It is home to over 25869 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 34968, giving it the 262nd largest population among California. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 8.16 mi˛ (21.13 square kilometre), of which, 8.04 square miles (20.82 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.12 square miles (0.31 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 392nd largest by size in California.
