Logan County is a one of the county from Kentucky's 120 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. Logan County had an official population of 26573 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 27117, making it the 40th most populous county in Kentucky. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 557.1 mi˛ (1442.88 square kilometre), of which, 555.68 square miles (1439.2 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.41 square miles (3.65 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Kentucky's seventh largest county by total area.

In the county Population was distributed with 25.7% under the age of 18, 8.4% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 23.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 27117, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 91.1% White, 7.31% Black or African American, 0.22% American Indian, 0.25% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 1.11% from two or more races.
