Logan County is a county located in the United States of Illinois. It is home to over 31183 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 29788, giving it the 50th largest population among Illinois's county. It covers total area of 619.01 mi˛ (1603.23 sq km), of which, 618.14 square miles (1600.98 sq km) of it is land and 0.87 square miles (2.25 sq km) of it is water, making it Illinois's 34th largest county by total area.

For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 98.7 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 29788, The racial makeup of the county was 27080 White, 2173 Black or African American, 58 American Indian, 253 Asian, 6 Native Hawaiian, and 218 from two or more races.
