Logan City is one of the city of Logan County, West Virginia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 1630 as per the Census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 1501, It is 99th most populous in West Virginia. It covers total area of 1.26 sq mi (3.26 kmē), of which, 1.16 square miles (3 kmē) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 kmē) of it is water, it is the 126th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1630 people, 750 households, and 423 families living in the city. The population density was 1403.5 people per square mile (541.89/kmē), it is 104th most densely populated city in West Virginia. There were 965 housing units at an average density of 831.9 per square mile (321.2/kmē). The average household size was 2.08 persons, and the average family size was 2.78 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 16.8% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 26.7% from 45 to 64, and 21.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 82.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 79.1 males. The median age of the city's population was 44.2 years, the median age of male residents at 41 and the median age of female residents at 46.7. The racial makeup of the city was 1508 White, 78 Black or African American, 5 American Indian, 10 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 28 from two or more races and 1 Ohter races.
