Livingston County is a county located in Michigan, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 156951 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 182575, It is the 11th largest in terms of population. The county has a total area of 585.43 sq mi (1516.26 kmē), of which, 568.4 square miles (1472.15 kmē) of it is land and 17.03 square miles (44.11 kmē) of it is water, it is the 55th largest by area in the U.S. state of Michigan.

As of the census of 2000, there were 156951 people, 55384 households, and 43506 families living in the county. The population density was 276.1 people per square mile (106.6/kmē), it is 12th most densely populated county in Michigan. There were 58919 housing units at an average density of 103.7 per square mile (40.04/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.8 persons, and the average family size was 3.18 persons. In the Livingston County, 28.8% of the population was under the age of 18, 6.6% were 18 to 24, 31.7% were 25 to 44, 24.6% were 45 to 64, and 8.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 102.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.7 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 182575, The racial makeup of the county was 96.74% White, 0.77% Black or African American, 0.41% American Indian, 0.92% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 1.11% from two or more races.
