Litchfield Borough is a borough located in Litchfield County, Connecticut, in the Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. The population of the borough was 1328 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the borough is 1312, making it the 18th least populous in Connecticut. The borough has a total area of 1.39 square miles (3.6 square kilometre), it is the 13th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Connecticut.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1328 residents, 573 households, and 350 families in the borough. The population density was 953.5 people per square mile (368.15/kmē), it is Connecticut's 81st most densely populated borough. There were 624 housing units at an average density of 448.9 per square mile (173.32/kmē). The average household size was 2.24 persons, and the average family size was 2.94 persons. The racial makeup of the borough was 97.97% White, 0.3% Black or African American, 0.15% American Indian, 0.3% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.9% from two or more races and 0.38% Other races.
