According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Lincoln City is home to 225581 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 251624, making it the second most populous in Nebraska. It covers total area of 75.38 square miles (195.23 kmē), of which, 74.64 square miles (193.32 kmē) of it is land and 0.74 square miles (1.92 kmē) of it is water, giving it the second largest by total area among Nebraska. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Nebraska.
