Lima City is a city located in the Allen County, Ohio, United States. In 2000, the population was 40081. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 37829, It is the 26th largest by population in the U.S. state of Ohio. It is spread over 12.88 square miles (33.36 sq km), of which, 12.78 square miles (33.1 sq km ) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 sq km) of it is water, making it Ohio's 60th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 40081 people, 15410 households, and 9567 families living in the city.
