Liberty Town is a town located in the Randolph County, North Carolina, United States. In 2000, town's population was 2661 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2731, It is 218th most populous in North Carolina. It covers total area of 2.62 sq mi (6.79 sq km), of which, 2.61 square miles (6.76 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 317th largest by area in the U.S. state of North Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2661 people, 1033 households, and 709 families residing in the town. The population density was 1020.8 people per square mile (394.13/kmē), making it the 197th most densely populated town in North Carolina. In the town the population was spread out, with 26.1% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.7 males.
