Liberty City is a one of the Clay County, Missouri, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The city has a population of 26232 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 30568, giving it the 25th largest population among Missouri. The city comprises an area of 27.01 square miles (69.96 square kilometre), of which, 26.95 square miles (69.8 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Missouri's 14th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 26232 people, 9511 households, and 6942 families residing in the city. The population density was 973.3 people per square mile (375.79/kmē), making it the 431st most densely populated city in Missouri.
