Lexington Town is a town located in Lexington County, South Carolina, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The population of the town was 9793 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 15901 in July 2008, It is the 46th most populous in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The town spans an area of 5.77 square miles (14.94 sq km), of which, 5.68 square miles (14.71 sq km) of it is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 sq km) of it is water, making it South Carolina's 92nd largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 9793 people, 3644 households, and 2557 families living in the town. The population density was 1724.4 people per square mile (665.79/kmē), it would be the 29th most densely populated town in the U.S. state of South Carolina. There were 4025 housing units at an average density of 708.6 per square mile (273.59/kmē). The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.03. Age range in the town was well distributed with 27.1% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 39.6% from 25 to 44, 18.3% from 45 to 64, and 7.5% who were 65 or older.
