Lewis County, Missouri is a county located in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 10494. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 9951, making it the 30th least populous county in Missouri. The county has a total area of 510.85 square miles (1323.1 kmē), of which, 505.01 square miles (1307.97 kmē) of it is land and 5.85 square miles (15.15 kmē) of it is water, it is the 35th smallest in terms of geographical size.

The July 2008 population estimate is 9951, The racial makeup of the county was 9537 White, 272 Black or African American, 24 American Indian, 23 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, and 93 from two or more races.
