Leesburg City is a United States city located in the Lake County, Florida, United States. The city has a population of 15956 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 22113, It is the 178th largest by population in the U.S. state of Florida. The city extends throughout a territory of 24.44 square miles (63.3 square kilometre ), of which, 18.67 square miles (48.36 square kilometre) of it is land and 5.78 square miles (14.97 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 65th largest by total area among Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 15956 people, 6775 households, and 4080 families residing in the city. The population density was 854.8 people per square mile (330.04/kmē), it would be the 260th least densely populated city in the U.S. state of Florida.
