Lee County is a United States county located in the United States of Arkansas. Lee County had an official population of 12580 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 10782, It is the 14th smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Arkansas. It has total area of 619.47 mi˛ (1604.42 sq km), of which, 601.66 square miles (1558.29 sq km) of it is land and 17.8 square miles (46.1 sq km) of it is water, it is the 21st smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 12580 people in the county, organized into 4182 households, and 2962 families residing in the county. The population density was 20.9 people per square mile (8.07/km˛), making it the 20th least densely populated county in Arkansas. There were 4768 housing units at an average density of 7.9 per square mile (3.05/km˛). The average household size was 2.59 people, and the average family size was 3.14 people. In the county the population was spread out, with 26% under the age of 18, 10.2% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 14% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 89.7 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 84.5 females. Its population was estimated at 10782 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 4536 White, 6119 Black or African American, 24 American Indian, 37 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, and 63 from two or more races.
