Lee County is a one of the county from Alabama's 67 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 115092 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 133010, making it the eighth most populous county in Alabama. It covers total area of 615.55 square miles (1594.27 kmē), of which, 608.71 square miles (1576.55 kmē) of it is land and 6.84 square miles (17.72 kmē) of it is water, it is the 18th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Alabama.

As of the census of 2000, there were 115092 people in the county, organized into 45702 households, and 27270 families residing in the county. The population density was 189.1 people per square mile (73.01/kmē), it is Alabama's seventh most densely populated county. There were 50329 housing units at an average density of 82.7 per square mile (31.93/kmē). The average household size was 2.42 persons, and the average family size was 3.03 persons. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 23.3% under the age of 18, 22.7% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 17.8% from 45 to 64, and 8.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.2 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 133010, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 98121 White, 30813 Black or African American, 332 American Indian, 2405 Asian, 25 Native Hawaiian, and 1314 from two or more races.
