Leavenworth City is a city located in the Leavenworth County, Kansas, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 35420 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 34729, It is Kansas's 12th largest by population . It has total area of 23.53 sq mi (60.94 square kilometre), of which, 23.51 square miles (60.89 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the ninth largest by total area in Kansas.
