Lead City, South Dakota is a city of the Lawrence County, South Dakota, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 3027 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 2892 in July 2008, It is the 24th most populous in the U.S. state of South Dakota. The city spans an area of 1.99 miē (5.15 kmē), it is the 61st largest by area in the U.S. state of South Dakota.
