Le Sueur County is a county located in the United States of Minnesota. As of 2000 the population was 25426. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 28042, It is Minnesota's 38th most populous county. The county encompasses an area of 473.86 square miles (1227.29 sq km ), of which, 448.5 square miles (1161.61 sq km) of it is land and 25.36 square miles (65.68 sq km) of it is water, it is the 17th smallest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 25426 people in the county, organized into 9630 households, and 6922 families residing in the county. The population density was 56.7 people per square mile (21.89/kmē), it is the 22nd most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Minnesota. There were 10858 housing units at an average density of 24.2 per square mile (9.34/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.61 persons, and the average family size was 3.1 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 27.4% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.7 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 28042, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 98.15% White, 0.37% Black or African American, 0.38% American Indian, 0.44% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 0.63% from two or more races.
