Le Flore County is a United States county located in the United States of Oklahoma. The county has a population of 48109 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 49802, It is the 15th largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 1608.03 miē (4164.78 kmē), of which, 1585.82 square miles (4107.25 kmē) of it is land and 22.2 square miles (57.5 kmē) of it is water, makes it the sixth largest by total area in Oklahoma.

The population density was 30.3 people per square mile (11.7/kmē), making it the 36th most densely populated county in Oklahoma. There were 20142 housing units at an average density of 12.7 per square mile (4.9/kmē). The average household size was 2.61 people, and the average family size was 3.05 people. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 26.1% under the age of 18, 9.7% from 18 to 24, 27% from 25 to 44, 23.3% from 45 to 64, and 13.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.8 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 49802, The racial makeup of the county was 81.14% White, 2.38% Black or African American, 11.09% American Indian, 0.32% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 5.03% from two or more races.
