Laurinburg City is one of the city of Scotland County, North Carolina, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. Laurinburg City had an official population of 15874 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 15548, making it the 48th most populous in North Carolina. It covers total area of 12.56 sq mi (32.53 sq km), of which, 12.4 square miles (32.12 sq km) of it is land and 0.16 square miles (0.41 sq km) of it is water, giving it the 63rd largest by total area among North Carolina.
