Lauderdale-by-the-sea Town is a town located in the Broward County, Florida, United States. The population of the town was 2563 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 5831, It is 574th most populous in Florida. The town has a total area of 1.23 sq mi (3.19 square kilometre), of which, 0.51 square miles (1.32 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.73 square miles (1.89 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 181st smallest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.
