Latah County, Idaho is a county located in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 34935. In July 2008, its estimated population was 35906, making it the 11th most populous county in Idaho. It covers total area of 1076.89 mi˛ (2789.13 square kilometre), of which, 1076.65 square miles (2788.51 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.24 square miles (0.62 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 30th largest by area in the U.S. state of Idaho.

As of the census of 2000, there were 34935 people, 13059 households, and 7764 families residing in the county. The population density was 32.4 people per square mile (12.51/km˛), it is the tenth most populated county in terms of population density. There were 13838 housing units at an average density of 12.9 per square mile (4.98/km˛). The average household size was 2.38 persons, and the average family size was 2.93 persons. In the county Population was distributed with 20.3% under the age of 18, 24.5% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 18.9% from 45 to 64, and 9.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 107.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 108.1 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 35906, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 33619 White, 357 Black or African American, 319 American Indian, 911 Asian, 42 Native Hawaiian, and 658 from two or more races.
