Las Vegas City is a United States city located in the San Miguel County, New Mexico, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 14565 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 13818, It is the 13th largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 7.52 mi˛ (19.48 sq km), it is the 67th largest by area in the U.S. state of New Mexico.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 14565 residents, 457 households, and 284 families in the city. The population density was 1938.2 people per square mile (748.34/km˛), it would be the fifth most densely populated city in the U.S. state of New Mexico. In the city the population was spread out, with 26.4% under the age of 18, 13.3% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 21.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 110.7 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 116 females.
