Lansing City is a United States city located in the Leavenworth County, Kansas, United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 9199 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 10691, giving it the 38th largest population among Kansas. The city has a total area of 8.64 square miles (22.38 kmē), of which, 8.52 square miles (22.07 kmē) of it is land and 0.13 square miles (0.34 kmē) of it is water, it is the 25th largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks 19 in the size of its inland waterways in Kansas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 9199 residents, 2435 households, and 1913 families in the city. The population density was 1080.1 people per square mile (417.03/kmē), giving it the 293rd most densely populated city among the Kansas. There were 2548 housing units at an average density of 299.1 per square mile (115.48/kmē). The average household size was 2.79 persons, and the average family size was 3.17 persons.
