In July 2008, its estimated population was 35761, making it the 97th most populous in Texas. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 29.3 miē (75.89 kmē), of which, 29.29 square miles (75.86 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 79th largest by total area in Texas.
