Lancaster City, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania is a city located in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 56348. The July 2008 population estimate is 54626, making it Pennsylvania's eighth largest. The city comprises an area of 7.4 square miles (19.17 sq km), of which, 7.4 square miles (19.17 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 62nd largest by total area in Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 56348 people in the city, organized into 20933 households, and 12156 families residing in the city. The population density was 7616.5 people per square mile (2940.75/kmē), it is the 37th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.
