Lanark City is one of the city of Carroll County, Illinois, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 1584. In July 2008, its estimated population was 1457, making it Illinois's 549th largest. The city extends throughout a territory of 1.04 square miles (2.69 kmē ), making it Illinois's 702nd largest by total area.
