The city extends throughout a territory of 42.47 square miles (110 sq km ), of which, 41.59 square miles (107.72 sq km) of it is land and 0.87 square miles (2.25 sq km) of it is water, giving it the tenth largest by total area among Colorado. It is ranks fifth in the size of its inland waterways in Colorado.
