Lakeland City, Shelby County, Tennessee is a city located in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 6862. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 8093, making it Tennessee's 77th largest. Its area is just over 18.04 miē (46.72 kmē), of which, 17.62 square miles (45.64 kmē) of it is land and 0.42 square miles (1.09 kmē) of it is water, it is the 35th largest in terms of geographical size.
