Lakehurst Borough, Ocean County, New Jersey is a borough located in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Lakehurst Borough is home to 2522 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 2707 in July 2008, It is the 126th smallest by population in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The borough encompasses an area of 1.01 sq mi (2.62 square kilometre ), of which, 0.92 square miles (2.38 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.09 square miles (0.23 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 89th smallest by total area in New Jersey.

In the borough the population was spread out, with 30.6% under the age of 18, 8% from 18 to 24, 34.1% from 25 to 44, 19.4% from 45 to 64, and 8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 93.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 99.7 females. The median age of the borough's population was 32.3 years, the median age of male residents at 31.2 and the median age of female residents at 33.4. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 2124 White, 198 Black or African American, 16 American Indian, 59 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, 54 from two or more races and 69 Ohter races.
