As per the 2000 census, census designated place has a population of 3061 inhabitants. making it South Carolina's 128th largest. The census designated place comprises an area of 4.74 mi˛ (12.28 sq km), of which, 3.48 square miles (9.01 sq km) of it is land and 1.26 square miles (3.26 sq km) of it is water, it is the 113th largest by area in the U.S. state of South Carolina. It is ranks 16 in the size of its inland waterways in South Carolina.

The population density was 880.6 people per square mile (340/km˛), it is South Carolina's 148th most densely populated census designated place.
