Lake Worth City is a city in the Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. In 2000, the population was 35133. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 35513, It is the 74th most populous in the U.S. state of Florida. The city extends throughout a territory of 6.46 sq mi (16.73 kmē ), of which, 5.64 square miles (14.61 kmē) of it is land and 0.82 square miles (2.12 kmē) of it is water, making it the 274th largest by size in Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 35133 people in the city, organized into 13828 households, and 7694 families living in the city. The population density was 6225.5 people per square mile (2403.68/kmē), giving it the 80th most densely populated city among the Florida. There were 15861 housing units at an average density of 2812.2 per square mile (1085.8/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.49 persons, and the average family size was 3.19 persons. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 22.9% under the age of 18, 10.6% from 18 to 24, 32.6% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 14.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 108.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 110.2 males. The median age is 35.2 years, the median age of male residents at 34.2 and the median age of female residents at 36.3. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 22877 White, 6627 Black or African American, 273 American Indian, 262 Asian, 37 Native Hawaiian, 1695 from two or more races and 3362 Ohter races.
