Lake Providence Town is a town in the East Carroll Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is home to over 5104 people (2000 census). The July 2008 population estimate is 4235, It is the 106th most populous in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The town extends throughout a territory of 3.62 mi˛ (9.38 sq km ), of which, 3.6 square miles (9.32 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, it is the 166th largest by area in the U.S. state of Louisiana.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 5104 residents, 400 households, and 290 families in the town. The population density was 1418.8 people per square mile (547.8/km˛), making its Louisiana's 98th most densely populated town. There were 1878 housing units at an average density of 521.7 per square mile (201.43/km˛). The average household size was 2.84 persons, and the average family size was 3.49 persons. In the town the population was distributed as follows: 35.3% under the age of 18, 11.2% from 18 to 24, 25.7% from 25 to 44, 16.7% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who were 65 or older.
