Lake Placid Village is a city located in the Essex County, New York, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 2638 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2750, making it the 503rd most populous in New York. The city has a total area of 1.52 mi˛ (3.94 sq km), of which, 1.38 square miles (3.57 sq km) of it is land and 0.15 square miles (0.39 sq km) of it is water, it is the 642nd largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2638 people, 1303 households, and 604 families residing in the city. The population density was 1913.2 people per square mile (738.69/km˛), it is the 416th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of New York. There were 1765 housing units at an average density of 1279 per square mile (493.82/km˛). The average household size was 2.02 and the average family size was 2.93.
