Lake Norden City is a United States city located in the Hamlin County, South Dakota, United States. It is home to over 432 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 422, making it South Dakota's 147th largest. The city has a total area of 0.67 sq mi (1.74 kmē), of which, 0.66 square miles (1.71 kmē) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 kmē) of it is water, it is the 166th largest by area in the U.S. state of South Dakota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 432 residents, 172 households, and 100 families in the city. The population density was 654.3 people per square mile (252.63/kmē), it is the 166th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of South Dakota. There were 193 housing units at an average density of 292.4 per square mile (112.9/kmē). The average household size was 2.22 people, and the average family size was 3.01 people. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 21.8% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 23.4% from 25 to 44, 19.2% from 45 to 64, and 28.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 91.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 88.8 males. The median age was 43 years, the median age of male residents at 39.3 and the median age of female residents at 48.5. The racial makeup of the city was 423 White, Black or African American, 6 American Indian, 1 Asian, Native Hawaiian, 1 from two or more races and 1 Ohter races.
