Lake Lure Town is a one of the Rutherford County, North Carolina, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 1027. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 1012, giving it the 385th largest population among North Carolina. It has total area of 14.79 sq mi (38.31 square kilometre), of which, 13.58 square miles (35.17 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.2 square miles (3.11 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 54th largest by total area among North Carolina. It is ranks 17 in the size of its inland waterways in North Carolina.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1027 people in the town, organized into 495 households, and 360 families living in the town. The population density was 75.6 people per square mile (29.19/kmē), giving it the 24th least densely populated town among the North Carolina. There were 1957 housing units at an average density of 144.1 per square mile (55.64/kmē). The average household size was 2.07 persons, and the average family size was 2.38 persons. In the town the population was distributed as follows: 10.4% under the age of 18, 3.2% from 18 to 24, 14.1% from 25 to 44, 35.9% from 45 to 64, and 36.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 103 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 102.6 males.
