Lake Dallas City is a city in the Denton County, Texas, United States. The city has a population of 6166 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 7811, making it Texas's 288th largest. The city spans an area of 2.62 sq mi (6.79 sq km), of which, 2.29 square miles (5.93 sq km) of it is land and 0.33 square miles (0.85 sq km) of it is water, it is the 684th largest by area in the U.S. state of Texas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6166 residents, 2261 households, and 1667 families in the city. The population density was 2693.5 people per square mile (1039.97/kmē), it is 92nd most densely populated city in Texas. There were 2338 housing units at an average density of 1021 per square mile (394.21/kmē). The average household size was 2.72 and the average family size was 3.17. In the city the population was distributed as follows: 30.7% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 37.7% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 6.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.1 males.
