Lake County is a county in the United States of Ohio. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Lake County is home to 227511 inhabitants. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 234030, It is 11th most populous county in Ohio. Its area is just over 978.87 mi˛ (2535.26 square kilometre), of which, 228.21 square miles (591.06 square kilometre) of it is land and 750.65 square miles (1944.17 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the third largest by total area among Ohio's county. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Ohio.

The population density was 996.9 people per square mile (384.91/km˛), making its Ohio's seventh most densely populated county. In the county Age distribution was 24.2% under the age of 18, 7.3% from 18 to 24, 29.7% from 25 to 44, 24.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 94.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.5 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 234030, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 94.51% White, 3.06% Black or African American, 0.14% American Indian, 1.3% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.96% from two or more races.
