Lake City City is a one of the Wabasha and Goodhue counties, Minnesota, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Lake City City is home to 4950 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 5285, It is 128th most populous in Minnesota. It covers total area of 4.3 sq mi (11.14 sq km), of which, 4.24 square miles (10.98 sq km) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 sq km) of it is water, it is the 176th largest by area in the U.S. state of Minnesota.

In the city the population was distributed as follows: 22.8% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 26.1% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 19.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.9 males. The median age of the city's population was 41 years, the median age of male residents at 39.8 and the median age of female residents at 42.4. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 96.81% White, 0.63% Black or African American, 0.4% American Indian, 1.11% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.77% from two or more races and 0.28% Other races.
