Lake Andes City is a one of the Charles Mix County, South Dakota, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The city has a population of 819 as per the 2000 census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 756, giving it the 87th largest population among South Dakota. The city spans an area of 0.83 square miles (2.15 sq km), of which, 0.8 square miles (2.07 sq km) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 sq km) of it is water, making it South Dakota's 144th largest by total area.
