Lake Alfred City is a United States city located in the Polk County, Florida, United States. The population of the city was 3890 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 4508, giving it the 486th largest population among Florida. It has total area of 8.59 mi˛ (22.25 square kilometre), of which, 4.9 square miles (12.69 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.68 square miles (9.53 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 217th largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3890 people in the city, organized into 1511 households, and 1103 families residing in the city. The population density was 793.6 people per square mile (306.41/km˛), it is the 246th least populated city in terms of population density.
