Lac Qui Parle County is a county located in Minnesota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 8067. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 7165, It is Minnesota's 12th least populous county. It covers total area of 778.05 square miles (2015.14 sq km), of which, 764.87 square miles (1981 sq km) of it is land and 13.19 square miles (34.16 sq km) of it is water, making it the 31st largest by size in Minnesota.

The population density was 10.5 people per square mile (4.05/kmē), it is the 15th least populated county in terms of population density. There were 3774 housing units at an average density of 4.9 per square mile (1.89/kmē). The average household size was 2.37 people, and the average family size was 2.96 people. In the county Age distribution was 24.5% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 22.7% from 25 to 44, 23.9% from 45 to 64, and 23.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 101.4 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 104.6 females. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 7165, The racial makeup of the county was 98.73% White, 0.21% Black or African American, 0.28% American Indian, 0.36% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 0.42% from two or more races.
